A Word From Pastor Phillips… “I have been at Douglas Baptist Church since 2001, and have thoroughly enjoyed my service. Nothing would thrill my heart more than to have you come visit us. We would like to be a blessing to you.”

With the dream of a new sanctuary already in place, Pastor Phillips joined the church and forged ahead with this dream, helping it to become reality along with help of many people in 2007. Under his leadership our senior ministry, “Golden Sonshiners” and community outreach, “Sportsmen For Christ Banquet” were begun.

Since the fall of 2022, Brother DeLange has been a part of the church staff. In summer of 2022, Pastor Phillips contacted Brother DeLange about possibly coming to help at Douglas Baptist Church. The two of them prayed and since Brother DeLange was already in a ministry of helps to the local church, traveling in an RV, it worked into their schedule to come. They headed west from their home church, White Plains Baptist Church, with over 1600 miles to get to their next destination. While traveling west, Satan tried very hard to stop them several times, breaking down their RV. God provided help every time to get them to our church.

Brother DeLange started by installing the new security system with 16 new cameras. Then, with the help of Pastor Phillips and others has been able to get the 100 year old church bell back into service. The bell can be heard every Sunday morning. It’s good to hear that old things can still be heard. He is willing to help in any way he can and is preparing to upgrade our sound system and update our online presence as well. Preparations to start a new addictions ministry are under way.
